Empowering artisans in Chennai, India

Our clothing is handmade by artisans in Chennai, India.

We economically empower individuals otherwise at-risk for poverty, migrant workers with limited job opportunity and individuals who are hearing and speech impaired.

Watch our artisans making our pants below.

Our workers come first. We uphold the autonomy and dignity of each of our artisans, providing them with a safe and supportive work environment, and a wage double that of the federally-set minimum wage.

We support experienced artisans with stable employment and provide skills training for women who are hearing and speech impaired.

Surpassing ethical workplace expectations

Prioritizing our planet

Our entire process minimizes textile waste, toxic water pollution, and carbon emissions.

Our pants are made using entirely upcycled deadstock fabric that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. We use all-natural materials for detailing and ship using carbon neutral shipping with 100% recycled packaging.

We want you to know what you're paying for.

We are fully transparent about our practices so you feel confident in your purchase.

We want you to know the WHY and WHO behind the price tag, so we have outlined exactly what you are paying for. If you have further questions about our process, practices, or costs, please reach out to us at taara@taaraprojects.com
